East of Eden is finito (for me).
I love starting and finishing books. It's the middle part that gets rough. E of E turned out to be as good as everyone says. Steinbeck likes to weave social commentary into his characters' behaviors, so if you enjoy the journey, there's something to think about on about every page.
About starting: I can't wait to start Lolita. I'm behind, but determined to make up ground and finish it by August 1st. Does everyone have their books?
